Grundfos Low Water Pressure Booster Pump 18 GPM 1 HP 115 V # MQ3-45-115
Grundfos low pressure electric booster pump system. MQ All-In-One Home Water Supply Pump. "Whisper Quiet Operation". Specially designed for domestic applications where low noise is a major consideration. The pump is water cooled which so a noisy cooling fan is eliminated.
Up to 5 water outlets can be operated at the same time without substantially reducing performance, assuming an average delivery of 3 GPM at 30 PSI and a 15 ft. suction lift.

- Do not exceed a total system unregulated pressure of 109 PSI..
- The total system pressure will be the incoming city pressure plus the maximum output pressure from the data above.
- The maximum allowable city pressure for this unit is 50 PSI. Use a regulating valve in the suction side as required.
- Use a regulating valves in the discharge line so that the regulated does not exceed 75 PSI to prevent pipe damage.
- Before installing the system, be sure that your city flow meter can handle the maximum flow requirement.

Questions & Answers
- What causes the MQ to start?
- The pump will start when the flow rate is greater than 0.3 gpm OR the pressure is below 29 psi.
- What causes the MQ to stop?
- The pump will shut off in 12-15 seconds after flow stops. Additionally, the MQ will be turned off in the event of a dry-run or over temperature alarm.
- What is the maximum height recommended between the MQ and any tap?
- To allow for the pressure of 50 ft of water, tolerances and a safety margin, Grundfos recommends a maximum height of 50 ft between the MQ and any tap
- What is the purpose of the built-in pressure tank?
- It is designed to minimize motor startup due to small leaks.
- How is the dry-run condition determined?
- The dry-run alarm is declared when the motor is running AND the flow rate is less than 0.3 gpm and when the pressure is less than the pressure switch setting.
- What is the maximum inlet pressure allowed in the MQ?
- The maximum inlet pressure for the MQ3-35 is 50 psi…..The maximum inlet pressure for the MQ 3-45 is 40 psi The inlet pressure plus the MQ boosted pressure must not exceed 109 psi.
- Where can a pressure gauge be easily installed?
- In the ˝" straight thread opening used to add priming water to the pump.
