Electric Solenoid (also called in-line) Valves are used with either city or pump water systems. They do not have backflow prevention devices built-in, so if you wish to use them for a city water system, you must install a check valve or backflow preventor in the supply line.
Electric solenoid valves are operated on either 24 volts or 110 volts. They are usually installed below the ground in a valve box.
