This vacuum switch is intended to automatically shut off the pump electric motor when liquid is depleted or when the vacuum suction drops to a certain level.
Specifications
Operation: Automatically interrupts power to the electric motor when liquid source is depleted, loss of vacuum or the suction vacuum drops.
Mounting: On the suction side, at least 21" above the liquid level, to sense loss of vacuum.
Temperature: Up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
Minimum Required Vacuum: 1-1/2" of Mercury
Connection: 1/4 female NPT
Contact rating: DC 32-115-230 V up to 1/2 HP, AC 110V up to 1-1/2 HP, 230V up to 3 HP
Construction: Plated steel (yellow zinc dichromate) cover, 300 series stainless steel wetted parts and Buna N rubber components.
Operation: The switch is normally in the open position, when the manual start/restart lever is held down, the switch closes. The switch will stay closed as long as 1-1/2" of vacuum is maintained. When the vacuum is less than 1-1/2" of Mercury, the switch will open stopping the motor. WARNING: Not explosion proof. Explosion hazard. Switch can spark. Explosion and death can occur. Do not use where flammable vapors are present.
If used in corrosive environment, switch may be subject to attack by chemicals and corrosive fumes.
