The major components of a complete installation are as follows:

  • Pump Rod Size: 3/8” diameter with adapter to 1/2” rigid Schedule 80 PVC plastic pipe.

  • Fasteners And Upper Pump Rod: Stainless steel.

  • Note: Has stainless steel upper rod with adapter to attach pump rod.
• CYLINDER: - INCLUDED (The component that goes down the well).

  • Pipe Size: 2” PVC slip fitting (solvent weld)
  • Plunger: All Brass with 3 cup leathers and stainless steel pump rod adapter.
  • Pump Rod Size: 1/2” PVC slip fitting (solvent weld)
  • Cylinder Barrel: Made of rigid PVC.
  • Capacity: Approximately 2 Gallons. per 50 strokes

  • Can be fabricated from wood or steel and must be high enough to allow access to the well seal bolts
  • Fasten pump flange to the fabricated platform. (using 1/4” fasteners )
• DROP PIPE (2” schedule 40 rigid PVC plastic) : - NOT INCLUDED
  • Connects the pump to the cylinder in the well
  • Carries the water to the surface
  • Comes in 20 foot lengths, and can be glued (solvent weld) or screwed together using couplers * - purchase locally
• PUMP ROD (1/2” schedule 80 rigid PVC plastic) - NOT INCLUDED
  • Located inside the drop pipe
  • Connects the pump handle to the plunger assembly in the cylinder
  • The hollow PVC pump rod actually floats and therefore reduces the pumping effort
  • Comes in 10 foot lengths, and can be glued (solvent welded) or screwed together using couplers * - purchase locally
• WELL CYLINDER: INCLUDED
  • 1 7/8” I.D. rigid PVC plastic
  • Has a brass plunger with 3 cup leathers, and is the actual pumping component that goes down the well
  • The up and down movement of the plunger (activated by the pump handle and pump rod) brings the water to the surface
  • Has adapter to connect to the pump rod.
  • Has external foot valve
• WELL CASING - NOT INCLUDED
  • Installed by a well driller - 4, 5 and 6” are common sizes
• WELL SEAL - NOT INCLUDED
  • Used to seal the top of the well casing where the drop pipe goes in
• NOTE: ENOUGH DROP PIPE AND PUMP ROD IS REQUIRED TO LOCATE THE CYLINDER 15 FEET BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE WATER.PLATFORM - NOT INCLUDED
